Hot Pepper SteppersThe Hot Pepper Steppers

The Hot Pepper Steppers have been performing Mountain-style Appalachian clogging since their inception in 1988. Their group includes Mary Allgire, Chris Brittle, Marc Weininger, Craig Bloch, Tom Greene, Norma Skaggs, Jesse Skaggs, and Courtney Spitzner. Appalachian Clogging is an American step dance. Its origins are an amalgamation of Irish and English clog dancing.


Hot Pepper SteppersTraditionally this type of dancing was done to old time fiddle music and originated in the Appalachian region of the United States. You can watch as the Hot Pepper Steppers open the entertainment for the day by demonstrating their mountain-style Appalachian Step Dancing. You may feel inclined to join them in their traditional green grass preformance with a few fancy foot steps of your own.
